Interface to Infoniqa ONE 50 will no longer be developed

Posting customer and vendor invoices, reconciling payments, and synchronizing charts of accounts: The interface between Infoniqa ONE 50 and Exxas has been in place for many years. As there are no new connection options in sight and use of the interface is declining significantly, further development will be discontinued.

Based on the SData interface from Sage, now Infoniqa, we developed a comprehensive interface to Sage 50 in 2012. Sage Switzerland AG was acquired by Infoniqa on November 30, 2021. Today, the product is called Infoniqa ONE 50. In 2012, Sage 50 used the “Pervasive PSQL” database, which was acquired by Actian Corporation in 2013. Since then, Sage has been working on migrating its products to Microsoft SQL. Many challenges delayed this change at Sage Switzerland AG.

Infoniqa also continued to work on this transition after the takeover. The drivers behind this were, on the one hand, that Pervasive is a discontinued product and, on the other hand, that the new manufacturer was demanding ever higher license fees. In the meantime, Actian was also acquired by HCL. This culminated in April 2024 when Infoniqa was surprised by Actian/HCL with even higher license fees for Pervasive. Infoniqa was forced to discontinue deliveries of new products with Pervasive PSQL.

SData only stable with Pervasive

Unfortunately, the SData interface only works properly with Pervasive. When Infoniqa ONE 50 is run with Microsoft SQL, the SData interface either does not work at all or unacceptable errors occur after a variable number of postings. This problem with Infoniqa ONE 50 and Microsoft SQL has existed for over 10 years. However, the SData interface originated from the international Sage Group, which is why Infoniqa can hardly make any further adjustments to it.  A REST API (interface) exists for Infoniqa ONE 50 with Microsoft SQL, the development of which began several years ago. Unfortunately, this API is still in an unfinished state and it is not possible to reconcile accounts receivable/accounts payable. We have invested a lot of time in testing and reviewing the interfaces of Infoniqa ONE 50. At the end of April, we came to the conclusion that the release of a usable version of the REST API or SData with Microsoft SQL is unrealistic.

The popularity of Infoniqa ONE 50 has been declining noticeably for years. Since the launch of Exxas financial accounting, customers using Infoniqa ONE 50 in particular have switched their finances to Exxas. The number of Exxas customers using Infoniqa ONE 50 is decreasing.

No further development of the interface

For all these reasons, we have decided to officially discontinue support and further development of the interface to Infoniqa ONE 50. The existing interface will continue to be available, but no further updates will be released. We are happy to support our customers with Infoniqa ONE 50 as best we can. However, we can no longer provide support for newer versions of Infoniqa ONE 50 and for operation with Microsoft SQL.

This marks the end of a long and important collaboration for us. We are happy to assist you in switching to another financial accounting system. For the switch to accounting in Exxas, we can provide you with a free transfer tool that automatically migrates your Infoniqa ONE 50 clients to Exxas. All accounts and bookings will be transferred.
