Tips for more safety when using Exxas
We are also counting on your support to ensure that your data is optimally protected. Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) and use a password manager. Regular reviews of user accounts and authorizations are other important measures.
We work every day to protect your data in the best possible way. We are constantly investing in our infrastructure, technology and development to ensure the highest level of security. However, we also need your support to cover all risks.
Multi-factor authentication
To improve the protection of your data, we strongly recommend that you use the multi-factor authentication to activate for all of your users.
- Tip: Your administrator can enable this feature in your Exxas account, so every user must set it up. This introduces an additional security step that protects access to sensitive data.
Use password manager
It's important to use strong passwords. For this purpose, we recommend using a password managers. Good solutions include 1Password, Dashlane, KeePass or Keeper. With these tools, all your users need is a master password. The password vault contains all other accounts, which can also be shared with other users. Your users therefore only have to remember a secure password and can use automatically generated passwords for all other services, portals, web shops and applications.
- Tip: The mentioned password managers offer integrated multi-factor authentication (MFA). This makes it unnecessary to use additional apps on the smartphone to log in. Instead of using multiple apps, it's enough to log in to the desired website via the password manager. The password manager automatically assumes the use of the stored MFA code.
Check accesses
As an Exxas administrator, you should regularly check the Review user accounts and permissions. This ensures that there are no active user accounts, for example from employees who have left the company. This measure also allows you to regularly block access that a user could have gained unauthorized access to.
- Tip: We recommend using the “named user principle” and refraining from using collective users. Each employee should use their own personal account. With collective users, it is often not clear who is using them and which authorizations are actually required. Exxas' Concurrent User Licensing (CU) eliminates the need to share user accounts, as you can create an unlimited number of users.
