Protected access while on the go

To prevent unauthorized access to Exxas as much as possible, we block access from uncertain regions and continents. For access outside secure regions, you can use a VPN connection to a secure zone.

In a world where hackers carry out random attacks on systems every day, it is important to avoid unnecessary risks. That's why we've decided to only use Exxas in regions that are important to our customers. Access from Europe is currently allowed. Romania, Turkey, Ukraine, Belarus and Russia are excluded from this. A particularly large number of attack attempts are registered from these five countries, which belong in whole or in part to Europe.

We know that this doesn't make it easier to work from a business trip to the USA or a vacation in Australia. However, this measure significantly increases the security of Exxas. A particularly large number of attack attempts are also registered from the USA. To access Exxas from unsafe zones, you can use a Virtual private network (VPN) connection to Europe use. These VPN tunnels are made available by many companies for their employees. Well-known VPN tools include FortiClient (Fortinet), Sophos SSL VPN client, Cisco Secure Client, Cliente Zyxel SecuExtender VPN or SonicWall NetExtender SSL VPN. Using a VPN tunnel also protects you from local threats on unprotected LAN and WiFi networks in hotels, trains, airports, and restaurants. Unencrypted data can be intercepted on unprotected networks. However, the connection to Exxas is always encrypted.

There are a variety of secure VPN solutions on the market. However, the safest way is to set up your own VPN tunnel via your IT partner. It can provide you with a secure connection to your firewall in your office or in a cloud. Alternatively, you can, for example Proton VPN use. This service was developed with support from the Swiss Confederation and the Horizon research project in Geneva.
