Backup and data warehouse
With Exxas Data Ocean, you can back up your data from the Business Platform to a location of your choice and use it for other apps. This also includes files and generated PDF documents such as invoices or order confirmations.
We invest heavily in the security of the Exxas Business Platform. This includes numerous protection mechanisms and multiple data backups to different locations. We are fully aware of our responsibility. That’s precisely why we developed Exxas Data Ocean. You can install Exxas Data Ocean on a Windows client or Windows server and back up your data to your location either once or on a regular schedule. The data also includes files and documents stored within Exxas.
Exxas Data Ocean isn't just a backup solution. The data is provided in generally readable formats. On the one hand, this includes data in CSV format, but also documents at file level (.pdf, .docx, .xlsx, etc.). You can make this data available in other apps or platforms. For example, in a data warehouse or reporting apps.
Data Ocean obtains the data via the Exxas API. 500 API requests per day are free of charge. After that, a standard request (API call) costs CHF 0.0005, a request to up/download files CHF 0.01 and a request to generate PDF documents costs CHF 0.01. Exxas Data Ocean can be downloaded free of charge from the App Marketplace. To access Data Ocean to your business platform, you need a user or an app password.
With Exxas Data Ocean, you can set up vendor-independent backup. This is a prerequisite in many safety concepts and a requirement for certain certifications. We recommend that you back up your Exxas data regularly.
